It’s Friday morning. How are you rolling into the weekend?
Joyfully! By Friday, the week is in full swing — projects are moving forward, meetings are flowing, and by the end of the day, there’s a palpable buzz as the weekend approaches… which also means it’s almost apéritif time!
What’s on the agenda for today?
No two Fridays are ever the same, and that’s exactly how we like it. The day always starts with a review of our numbers — a key moment to assess the business (it’s our eighth generation producing Greek olive oil) and get a pulse on the week. From there, it’s full speed ahead: meetings with our teams, conversations with chefs and partners, and checking in with ongoing projects. The afternoon might bring a visit to a restaurant, a logistics check-in, or a strategic meeting to fine-tune our next initiatives.
Any restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
We like to kick off the evening with drinks at Débonnaire on Avenue Trudaine or Le Mansart on Thursday nights. For dinner, Ida by Denny Imbroisi in the 15th is the go-to spot for the best carbonara in Paris. For a romantic dinner, we head to La Passerelle by Mickaël Méziane in Issy-les-Moulineaux — special mention for its wine cellar! With friends, we book a table at Babille, Bazurto, or Yaya for a lively dinner.
We also love Mojju by Thibault Sombardier in the 7th or Pouliche by Amandine Chaignot. And for a must-have Sunday brunch, we make a beeline for BOULOM in the 18th, where Julien Duboué serves up a fantastic Southwestern-style buffet. For an afternoon indulgence, a quick stop at Yann Couvreur is a must — his pastries never fail to surprise.
How about a little leisure or culture?
The Paris Aquarium is a lifesaver for keeping Théodore — Grégory’s son — entertained for a full morning. A stroll through Montmartre and Rue des Martyrs is always a pleasure. We’ve also enjoyed the Banksy Museum on Rue Montmartre (The World of Banksy), and for a wild night out, La Fête near Place de Clichy, where Dorion keeps the dance floor alive.
Any weekend getaways?
We escape whenever we can! Loire Valley Lodges, nestled in the forest near Tours, is a dream for disconnecting in a magical setting. Annecy is another favorite — whether summer or winter, the lake offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, from paddleboarding and hiking to skiing. And of course, Brittany — especially the Gulf of Morbihan, where the raw, unspoiled landscapes are always a source of inspiration.
What was your last great vacation?
Greece — back to Kalamata, where Kalios was born. A true homecoming, spent with family among olive groves and the sea. It’s always a meaningful trip for us — revisiting our family’s land, reconnecting with our producers, and most importantly, gathering around long, generous Greek meals.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
An Angell electric bike… that never arrived! (If anyone’s listening).
What store or service do you always recommend?
Citadium — even if you’re not buying anything, the vibe is always fun, and it’s a great place to hang out.
