It’s Friday morning. What’s the scene at your workplace?
The days of the week have never really felt like a countdown to a relaxing weekend or a getaway to the other side of the world. Friday feels just like Monday… or maybe it’s an occasion for a glass of wine with a friend. It’s often the time when final big proposals go out, so that my clients (often private individuals) can take time over the weekend to review my work, usually related to a personal event, like a wedding, birthday, or private reception. So Friday is a joy for me, a time to dive into work in peace, knowing I won’t be getting emails all weekend.

What’s on the agenda for today?
My typical day: I wake up at 730, shower, get dressed, and head to a shoot. After the shoot ends around 11, I head home, sew a couple stitches into my partner’s suit hem, then I’m back in the kitchen prepping a catering order for that evening. At 4, I head out for the event; ready and perfumed, I set the tables and reheat the dishes that fill the reception room with wonderful aromas. Service begins at 7, ends around 9. I head home, usually eat a piece of bread and cheese leaning against the kitchen counter, and finally reunite with my partner, both of us smiling to see each other again.

How about a little leisure or culture?
My lifeline. I spend a lot of time working and learning to feed my creativity, even if life’s essentials sometimes take a back seat. It’s a shame, because I adore wandering through museums and strolling the city.

Any weekend getaways?
This week I’m in Switzerland, my home place. There are so many great spots: Café de Chavannes (incredible, delicious, beautiful!), La Vinothèque de la Maison Rose by Danielle Wannaz in Cully; and a bit higher in the vineyards, her father’s Domaine Wannaz. Magical! Breathtaking view of the Lavaux region where I grew up.

In Lausanne, I visit La Couronne d’Or, for a glass of wine, a bite of pâté vaudois or a sunny terrace coffee, and Café Romand, a classic brasserie

What was your last great vacation?
Last fall, Auberge de la Roche, a lovely discovery (intel) in Valdeblore. Also, Hôtel du Couvent, in Nice, is an exceptional place to rest as a couple.

What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
A vintage Moschino orb dress, bought for a song… typically resells for over €600. For me, it’ll stay in my closet (or on me). It’s silk, with black heart tubing. Found it for a dear friend’s wedding.

What store or service do you recommend in Paris?
Terroirs d’Avenir, my go-to produce shop for picnic supplies before heading to the park.

Where are you donating your time or money?
To the Art Brut Museum in Lausanne and its artists. One of the most beautiful museums in the world.
